A Community Commitment

Established in 2008, The Susan Hirt Hagen Center for Civic & Urban Engagement is the most visible manifestation of Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s commitment to community service, civic engagement and economic partnership with the local and regional community. The Hagen Center ties Â鶹´«Ã½ to the community and the community to Â鶹´«Ã½ through service, internships, research, engaged teaching and learning, and off-campus employment.

Community Service

The Community Service program provides students with opportunities to serve, to connect with the greater Springfield community, and to reflect on the service experience to better understand themselves, community needs, and their responsibility in advancing the common good.

Our Internship programs were created as an effective means for generating scholarship, service, and collaboration between Â鶹´«Ã½ University and the Springfield community.
