A Community Commitment

Established in 2008, The Susan Hirt Hagen Center for Civic & Urban Engagement is the most visible manifestation of 鶹ý’s commitment to community service, civic engagement and economic partnership with the local and regional community. The Hagen Center ties 鶹ý to the community and the community to 鶹ý through service, internships, research, engaged teaching and learning, and off-campus employment.

The Community Service program provides students with opportunities to serve, to connect with the greater Springfield community, and to reflect on the service experience to better understand themselves, community needs, and their responsibility in advancing the common good.

Our Internship programs were created as an effective means for generating scholarship, service, and collaboration between 鶹ý University and the Springfield community.

Community-Engaged Teaching
